RANGITIKEI.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) MARTON, Feb. 20. Messrs W. A. Ingle (Marton), E. L. Ironmonger (Hunterville) and E. Loder (Taihape) have been appointed Justices of the Peace. { . G. Reu, with 20 points, is leading in tho cycle riders’ section of tho Galpin Cup competition, and A. Pickering with 13 in the fiat runners’ section Dr W. S. R. Dick, of Marton, is a delegate to the British Medical Association Conference in Christchurch. The visit of Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates to Marton has been postponed until early in April. Whilst deep-sea fishing in the Bay of Islands, Mr Walter Britton, of Taihape, caught a swordfish weighing 1511bs. The fish provided thrilling sport and to.ok the launch four or five miles out to sea. The garden fete promoted by the Marton branch of the Plunket Society on Wednesday yielded a profit of £9O. The engineer reported at yesterday’s meeting of the Wanganui-Rangitikei Electric Power Board that the 2j-mile 6600-volt line in the lower Turakina Valley had been finished and livened up, and power was being supplied to all consumers whose installations had been completed.
