BANDS’ CONTEST
Per Press Association. DUNEDIN, Feb. 22. The New Zeaiand bands’ contest in which 34 brass and pipe bands aro engaged commenced this afternoon in perfect weather at the Carisbrook ground with the C. grade and the Highland pipe bands’ quickstep contest. The seven entries for tne C. grade include one from Waimate and one from Papanui outside of Otago. Canterbury, Timaru. Dunedin, Balclutha. Wifnganui. Wellington, Christchurch and North Otago are in the pipe bands’ contest.
