Nash, M.P.) stated that owing to tho wise provision originally made by Mr W. A. Waters (chief lor the delivery of 12,000 poles desapped, the board had been saved a great deal of money. It was stated that when other boards had realised the value of that action, they had followed suit, but manv already had their poles ordered at tliat time. Mr M. A. Eliott stated that some of the telegraph poles in the borough were rotting rour.l the base, and only the cores were left. They looked as if the first strong wind would blow them over.
