VANCOUVER, Dec. 10. A message from Sliakopee, Minnesota, states that this quiet village, which is on the Minnesota River, was the scene of a repulse of a bank robbery that worked out with the precision of a movie drama. The chief of police received word of the robbers’ proposed visit. He hid a number of men and a machine gun in a shop opposite the bank. The battle took place at the scheduled hour. The tellers handed the bandit's 1500 dollars and then the gun fights commenced. More than a hundred shots were fired. “Bud” MeInerneyj the leader jf the bandits, was killed, and two companions wounded. The village butcher, without advance information of the robbery dashed from his shop with a rifle and brought down one robber.
