FOXTON.
(From Our Own Correspondent). FOXTON, Niov. 5. A pleasing ceremony took place at All Saints’ Church at the conclusion of tho evening service on Sunday when Rev. Mr . Walton presented Mr A. E. Scott with a fountain pen on behalf of the veetry as a token of appreciation of his services to the church during his stay in Foxton. Mr and Mrs Scott are leaving Foxton for Wellington. Mrs Scott left this week for Taradale, where she will spend a holiday prior to joining Mr Scott in the city. Mr Scott loaves Foxton about the middle of November. During the week-end patronal festival services were celebrated in All Saints’ Church. Rev. Mr Walton was assisted in the celebrations by Rev. Canon Potrie (Feilding), Rev. W. Langston (Mangaweka) and Rev. John Nield (Palmerston North). Last Friday a birthday party was given the children of All Saints’ Beach Home when a short service held in the church was largely attended. The fete took place in the Sunday school which was packed. A largo birthday cake, presented by Mrs A. S. Easton, was covered with 53 candles which were lit by Horace Easton and Charles Robinson, representing two of the oldest families in the district. Misses O. , Yiorke and B. Crowe attended to the serving of the cake. The programme of items was contributed to by Winifred Harris, Francos Good, Bruce Smith and Bonnie McKenzie. j
