A Thames fisherman, Mr B. Loane, had an unenviable experience th other night, for he was adrift in the Hauraki Gulf in a dinghy. .After setting his nets oil Whakatawai hia Mr Loane left Mr C. Burgess, his partner in charge of the launch while he went round the netsin dinghy. The launch broke adrift and in the darkness Mr Loane was unable to locate it. .Mr Burgess could not start the engine for a considerable time. When he .did cru round in search of his partner could not find him, so he set oft tor Miranda for assistance. Mr Loan drifted about the gulf bailing in v! ' l ”‘ When dawn broke he sighted Mr Lomas’s launch and was taken aboard .an almost frozen condition.
