DESERT TRAGEDY.
PARTY OF SEVEN DEAD. BURNING HEAT~OF CALIFORNIA. (United Service.) Received July 27, 9.5 a.m. NEW YORK, July 26. A message from San Francisco reveals a tragedy in the California desert. Following a zig-zag trail of footprints, searchers came upon the bodies of six people sprawled face downwards in the sand. They had been passengers in a motor car which had been found by the search party. Under the car itself was the body of another passenger. He had crawled under the vehicle in order to seek relief from the burning temperature of 105 degrees.
