HIS MAJESTY’S CONGRATULATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, July 3. The King, through his secretary, Lord Stamfordham, has sent a mes- ' sage to Dr. C. P. Scott, the veteran editor and owner of the Manchester . Guardian, whose resignation has been 1 announced. The message says:
“For 57 years you have been responsible for the conduct of a great newspaper, and His Majesty, while regretting your resignation, congratulates you on an achievement which surely must be unique in the history of journalism.”
