AUSTRALIAN NOVEL.

"A HOUSE IS BUILT.” ARNOLD BENNETT IMPRESSED. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, July 4. Mr Arnold Bennett, the cerebrated author, has written an appreciative review of “A House is Built,” a story of the early days in Australia. “A House is Built” won the £IOOO competition for the best novel by an Australian author, and is the work of the Misses Eldershaw and Bernard, two graduates, of Sydney University. Mr Bennett states: “‘A House is Built’ is a very notable novel; the quality is epical and has impressed me deeply. I will be surprised if more is not heard of the Misses Eldershaw and Bernard.”
