The Daily News’s Paris correspondent states: — “Scenes of unprecedented splendour marked the midnight marriage of the Marquis del Merito. the King of Spain’s Chamberlain, to Elena Patino, tho daughter of the Bolivian Minister at Paris, whose dowry amounts to a round sum of £8,000,000. “The reception resembled a poet’s phantasy. The guests danced all night in a vast room hung with priceless tapestries . and adorned with exotic flowers. “Eight of the prettiest daughters of the aristocracy, who were chosen by the Queen of Spain, acted as bridesmaids.”
