BUNNYTHORPE, June 4.

On Wednesday last the Bunnythorpe and Ohakea Miniature Rifle Clubs fired matches with the A and B teams, resulting- in the Bunnythorpe A team winning bv two points while the B teams tied. The scores were as follow:—Bunnythorpe A 1074 v. Ohakea A 1072, Bunnythorpe B 781 v. Ohakea B 781.

Mr W. Eggleion had the misfortune to have one of his fingers badly crushed while working with his traction engine during the past week. Medical aid was =>ought, and it was found necessary to remove the nail and the top of his finger. What might have been a serious accident took place at the intere=ction of the Fcilding-Bunnythorpe Road when a young man name Zotov, riding a motor cycle, collided with a milk car. The young man was thrown heavily to the ground and a wheel passed over his ankle. He will be laid up for some time. The Anglican Ladies’ Guild held another of their successful euchre parties when there was a large attendance- and the prizes were won by Mrs Sinclair (ladies) and Mr Gore (gentlemen).

On Saturday evening last Mr and Mrs H. G. Wilton, of Hiwinui, entertained some 50 guests on the occasion of their silver wedding. The function took the form of a social gathering in the Hiwinui School, after which they entertained their guests at a banquet at their residence when the toast- of Mr and Mrs H. G. Wilton was honoured. During the evening the Hiwinui residents, as an expression of best wishes to their host and hostess, presented them with a barometer as silver wedding present. Mr J. Egger has gone to Auckland for his annua! holidays. Mr and Mrs R. C. Powell and Mr and Mrs J. O'Donnell left for Taranaki on a motor holiday trip.
