FASCISTI THESIS.

CHALLENGED BY THE POPE. (Australian Press Association). ROME, May 16. In his address to former students from the College of Mondragone, whom lie received in audience, the Pope challenged the Fascisti thesis expounded by Signor Mussolini, that education was primarily the duty of the State. He said that it lay firstly and above all with the Church and the parents. Referring to Signor Mussolini’s doctrine, “We must give, youth a sense of power and virility of conquest,” the Pope explained: “What would befall if all the States brought up their youth on ideas of conquest?” His Holiness added: “The Church does not intend to forgo its educational rights.”
