FEILDING

ANGLERS’ CLUB. (Special to “Standard.”) FEILDING May 16. As a wind-up of the fishing season locally, the Feilding Anglers’ Club held a social gathering last night, when the season’s trophies were presented. Mr F. H. Stockwell presided, and in the course of a brief address regretted that the inclement weather had prevented visitors from Dannevirke and Pahintua being present. To the Woodville friends of the club who were present Mr Stockwell extended a hearty welcome. The trophies were then presented as follow-.--Aggregate trophy for most fish caught in the competition, Mr E. Ingram; Mr P. P. Stevens’ trophy, Mr Ingram; challenge cup, presented by Rudgc and Sons, Iledditch, England, Mr Ingram ; Mr Stockwell’s three-dnv competition trophy, Mr Ingram; Mr F. H. Billings’ threeday competition trophy, Mr A. H. Marshall; Mr Ingram's trophy for the heaviest fish caught, Mr J. H. Hurdle. A trophy awarded to the “most unlucky” member of the club went to Mr Billing. . During the evening Mr C. Scott rendered several items, which were much appreciated. WESTELLA BALLOT. The ballot for sections in the Westella sub-division commenced at the Drill Hall this morning and will continue all day. The initial proceedings were the examination of those who put in for sections, and, as over 120 are desirous of drawing the 12 sections. the process of the Land Board will he a lengthy one.
