INDIAN REVOLT PLANNED
AFGHANISTAN AS PAWN
The Soviet, following its failure to secure ascendancy in China, is pow concentrating .on an attempt to use Afghanistan as' a stepping-stone for a new campaign against the British Empire, first attacking India, viet agents are making the utmost efforts to cause a revolt. According to" frontier reports, Soviet troops are concentrating on the northern frontier of Afghanistan, where traffic has been stopped. The Soviet is also subsidising ex-King Amanullah in the hope of fomenting civil war, thus enabling Soviet intervention.
MANIFESTO TO PEASANTS. Meanwhile, according to Riga reports, the Red International has issued the following proclamation to the workers and peasants of India : “Peasants of India, rise and fight the landlords! Long live an indepen. dent and free India! # live the Indian Soviet’s Republic! British Imperialism, which only prevails by base terror and dirty graft, has now entered a crisis in which false promises are no longer . possible. Only a workers’ revolution and a peasants’ war can destroy Imperialism. India has now become the centre of the web of coming wars, and also of .the proletarian revolution and colonial rebellions.
M. Stalin, chairman of the Central Soviet Executive, attacks the. International’s proclamation, declaring that it is most inopportune ..owing to tjio visit of British industrialists with a view to reviving Anglo-Russian trade.
