DIVORCE PETITION.

CASE HEARD IN AUCKLAND

(By Telegraph.—Special to Standard.) AUCKLAND, April 11.

On the'grounds of her husband’s misconduct with a woman unknown, Annie Jane Scantlebury petitioned Mr Justice Blair in the Supreme Court to-day for the dissolution of her marriage with Percival John Scantlebury, solicitor, of Auckland.

In evidence the petitioner said that the marriage took place in Wellington in 1909. The two lived for some time in -Dunedin and later in • Auckland. There was one child. “In consequence of suspicions, I made a call at my husband’s office on the evening of December 12 last in company with a friend and his wife,” said Mrs Scantlebury. “We arrived about nine o’clock and found the office in darkness and the door locked. By breaking the glass of the door -,fre gained admission and, flashing a light, saw my husband with a young woman. Both looked startled. I said: ‘I have caught you at last; I will communicate with you through my solicitor.’ ” 1

His Honour granted a decree nisi to be made absolute after three months, with costs against the respondent on the lower scale.
