WONDER SHIPS.

NELSON AND RODNEY. BOMB-PROOF VESSELS. (Australian Press Association.) LONDON, April 10, Details officially issued in connection with the battleships Nelson and Rodney show that features of these wonder ships are the steel deck, the heaviest horizontal protection ever fitted to a ship, which makes them the fiyst bomb-proof vessels afloat; the armour plating of the hull and gun turrets is of such .a thickness as to be impenetrable under ordinary battle conditions; the torpedo protection is on a scale never previously attempted. The Daily Telegraph’s naval correspondent states that for the first time, at least, naval defence appears to have mastered attack from aeroplane and submarine.
