RANGITIKEI GOLF. CLUB. (From Our Own Correspondent). BULLS, April 11. In warm, sultry weather on Wednesday afternoon ladies of the Rangitikei Golf Club played . the opening match of the new season, the captain’s team being matched with that of the secretary, resulting in victory for the captain’s elect by 7 games to 3s. Following were the results, the captain’s players being given first: —Mrs McDonell defeated Mrs Ralfe, Mrs . Marumaru defeated Mrs . Duncum( Miss Tricker defeated Miss Brookio, Mrs Mansell defeated Mrs Prichard, Miss McKenzie defeated Miss.Amon, Mrs Law defeated Mrs Drew, Mrs Thompson lost to Mrs Hendry, Miss Bailey lost to Miss D. Perret, Mrs Carer defeated Mrs McKenzie, Mrs Anderson lost to Miss O. Levett. The first L.G.U. Medal round will be played on Wednesday next, April 17th. BOWLING. Weather conditions were ideal for the match between rinks representing the Marton and Bulls Bowling Clubs, played on the Bulls green. The visitors proved superior, winning three games to one, Ladies of the Crouet Club provided a sumptuous afternoon tea, which was greatly appreciated. Following were tho results of the games, Bulls rinks-being mentiodned first: Ransom, Brookie, F. Stevens, H. Stevens (skip) 21 lost to Prince, Mills Parker, Purnell (skip) 36; Tricker, Alderwick, Ingram, Drew (skip) .23 lost to Cummins, Hottcyman, Carson, Marr (skip) 29; Walker, Perrett, Archer, Caldow (6kip) 19 lost ’to Smart, Ferens, Lourie, Gorrie (skip) 22; Green, Ellery, Afl Holland, Cole (skip) 28 beat Morrinson, Way, Duncan, Atkinson (skip) 20. Totals: Marton 107, Bulls 91. . CROQUET. Ladies of Oroua (Feilding) and Bulls Croquet Clubs played a match at Bulls on Tuesday afternoon in dull, but fine weather. The greens were in good order, and the match was evenly contested, each side winning two games,and Bulls leading on the aggregate by the narrow margin of 8 points. Players and friends were provided with luncheon and afternoon tea, and a most enjoyable gathering eventuated. Following are details of tho games player, tho visitors being mentioned first:—-Mrs Allsop (10i) and Mrs Spence (ll) 14, defeated Mrs Larmer (10£) and Mrs Simpson (12) 12; Mrs Edelston and Mrs Bowden (11) 17, defeated Mrs Broughton (lOi) and Mrs Tricker (11) 11; Mrs Price (10i) and Mrs Jensen (6A) 15, lost to Mrs Stevens (6j) and Mrs Wilson (10i) 21; Mrs Aitken (5 A) and Mrs Manning (7A) 16, lost to Mrs Les. Green (6A) and Mrs Ingram (6A) 26. Totals: Bulls 70, Oroua 62. BULLS M.R. CLUB. The annual general meeting of the Bulls Miniaure Rifle Club was held on Tuesday evening. Mr B. Stokes presided, and there was a large attendance of members. ■ It was decided to hold over consideration of the balance-shee until such time as the ammunition question is decided. A special meeting will be held on April 23 to go into this matter. The election of officers resulted as fol-. lows Patron, Mr J. Jr- Mansell; president, Mr S. Avery; vice-presidents, Dr. F. J. Watson and Messrs R. o.' Dalrymple, A. J. C. PVice,' V. Edhouse, J. B. Robins, E. Y. Wilsoh; F. A. Holland and'L. Hill; secretary ' and treasurer, Mr R. Mansell; auditor, Mr F. Ralfe; ammunition controller, Mr I. R„ Bevan; official markers, Messrs F. Ralfe and B. Stokes; committee, the president, secretary, ammunition ■ controller and markers,; handicappers,Messrs C. Broughton and S. Sharp; trophy committee, Messrs C. Edwards and J. Bartlett.' A hearty vote of thanks was accorded the retiring president, Mr B. Stokes. The number of vice-presidents was limited to nine. The committee is to have full control of all trophies allotted, including tho Anderson and Phillips Cup. April 9th was declared tho opening night, and subscriptions were fixed at 7s 6d. It was decided that members absent on club business on shooting nights may 'shoot two extra ranges on the following shooting night. It was decided to join up with tho Manawatu and Wanganui Associations. Messrs C. Broughton and F. Ralfe wore appointed delegates. The procuring of new riflfle barrels was left to Messrs Avery, Ralfe and Broughton to attend to. It was decided that the Town Hall supper room be booked for a series of euchre parties, commencing on April 19th, and continued weekly. Mr Avery has donated an iced cake as the ladies’ prize on the opening night, the gentlemen’s prize being a trophy value 15s. Votes of thanks for donations were tendered to the following who gave trophies: Messrs S. Avery, J. Bartlett, C. Edwards, I. Bevan 'and C. Broughton. A vote of thanks to the chair concluded the meeting.. '
