(From Our Own Correspondent). TIAKITAHUNA, April 10. The Harvest Festival of the Presbyterian Church was held .in the- hall on Monday evening and the function was well attended. Songs were contributed by Mrs Fell and Messrs 11. McEwan and Brown, and recitations by the Misses J. Rowland and P. Johnson. Mr j. Hawke, the local factory managed, had the misfortune to injure his knee whilo .engaged in his daily duties. Mrs Passey, senr., of Palmerston North, is visiting her daughter, Mrs Garner. The following candidates successful sfvam the required distances to qualify for certificates: —Learners’ Certificates, 50yds., Nellie Fletcher, Yera Jeffrey and Iris Morley; certificates of proficiency, 220yds, Barbara Parker, Joyce Morley, Selwyn Rowland, Hugh Dampney and Ronald Parker.
