TASMANIAN MINISTER.
VISITING NEW ZEALAND. Per Press Association. ’ ' WELLINGTON, April 9. Sir Walter Lee; ex-Premier and Treasurer of tho Tasmanian Government, arrived by the Manuka to-day for the purpose of conferring with the New Zealand Government on matters connected with the portfolios of Lands, Works. Agriculture and Forestry, which ne now holds, “There is one thing I want to see re-established,” he said, “and that is the shipping service between Hobart and the Bluff. It would, lam sure, be to the distinct advantage of us both.” Mr F. E. Ward, Tasmania’s Director of Agriculture, accompanies Sir Walter Lee. He formerly belonged to' the New Zealand Agriculture Department. Sir Walter Lee states that he desires to gain a knowledge of New Zealand’s admittedly-progressive methods in agriculture, also a knowledge of afforestation methods. Sir Walter will be here for 16 days. Most of the time will be spent in the North Island, but Christchurch will also be visited. .
