BRIDGE AT BULLS.
PROPOSED NEW STRUCTURE. - HIGHER SUBSIDY WANTED. MARTON, April 9. The members of the Main Highways Board,-who will arrive, in Marton. from the, north .on April 19, will be met by representatives of the Rangitikei County Council, when one of- the chief topics of discussion will be the subsidy for the new Bulls-bridge. - ■- After an.hour.in Marton the board will go to Bulls to inspect the existing bridge 'a'nd to meet the members of the Manawatu County Council and . the Rangitikei County Council. It is hoped to secure a subsidy of £4 for £1 for the erection of the proposed new structure, instead of £3 for £1 as offered. . , , The present bridge, which has long served its purpose, is the bottle-neck link between Wellington and The bridge which is proposed will be a two-way structure and the most up-to date of its kind in New Zealand.
