KETCH ASHORE.
FAST ON MUD BOTTOM. Per Press Association. « NEW PLYMOUTH, MarchiSl. The auxiliary ketch Aratapu,/? 125 tons, went ashore at the entrance to the Waitara River on Saturday, and is still fast, apparently on a mttd bottom. On Friday night the vessel, en route from Westport for Waitafa with coal, called at New Plymouth to shelter from the blustering weather. On Saturday she resumed lier voyage and went aground while endeavouring to enter the \ river port with high tides. She is rocking badly, but at present it is not seriously feared that she' will be damaged while she remains in her present position, although it is possible she may not be refloated until next spring tide. Attempts so far have been unsuccessful.
