CHESS CLUB.

EASTER TOURNAMENT. The Palmerston North Chess Club are playing a Wellington team in town over the week-end. The tournament was commenced yesterday. An official welcome will be extended the visitors by the Mayor, Mr A. J. Graham, this evening at the rooms in Broadway.

Among tho Wellington players is Mr J. C. McCrea. About 32 years ago Mr McCrea was postmaster in Palmerston North, and at that time was secretary of the original Chess Club.
