HOUSE DAMAGED.

EXPLOSION AT PRAHRAN. GAS METER TAMPERED WITH. Received March 30, 11.5 a.m. MELBOURNE, March 30. Several buildings were rocked by an explosion which occurred this evening and severely damaged a house in Praliran. The house had been without a tenant for a week. It is believed that the explosion was caused by a mixture of petrol and gas Two men were seen leaving the premises immediately before the explosion occurred. The house was fully insured.

The gas meter had. been tampered with to allow a free flow of the gas.
