AWAPUNI GALLOPS

WINDING UP FOR EASTER. , (By “Binocular.”) The rain of yesterday had made little appreciable difference to the tracks at iuvapuni and the going was in consequence good this morning, the plough being far from heavy. Broughton) at the end of a five furlong gallop on the plough which occupied 1.9. The latter 6till shows his old habit of declining to gallop when once he lands into the straight. He will duly take liis place in the Wairarapa Cup field. She does not claim any immediate engagements. Dobbin (Mackie) strode home ahead of Kilorell (K. Robinson) and Tenure (K. Voitre) at the end of four furlongs on the course proper. Dobbin got the best of the jump out, but was held back to Tenure until half way home when he was shaken up to hold off Kilorell, who finished strongly from well hack. Knapp’s stable, but the pace was not on at any stage. RIDING ENGAGEMENTS. Ridiing engagements additional to those already announced are : —Red bank at Feuding: L. Jarvis. FEILDING RACES. The rain which fell last night will have a beneficial effect on the Feilding racecourse and the track should bo in first-class order for Saturday’s racing.
