ILLICIT RUM MAKING.

HEAVY PENALTY. SYDNEY, March 27. Frederick Ross was convicted at Glebe to-day of illicit rum making. He was fined £525, with costs, this being his second offence. The police stated that defendant’s plant was capable of making two gallons of rum per day. The spirit was considerably overproof. Ross is to remain in gaol until the fine is paid.
