POHANGINA.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) POHANGINA, Feb. 13.

The annual picnic lor the pupils of the Picliangina School was held on Saturday in the Domain. The weather was very unsettled in the morning, but cleared up tor a beautiful afternoon, and a very enjoyable time was speut by the good gathering present. The children spent a jolly morning'playing games, etc., and at.noon were called up to partake of a very appetising lunch pnovided by the ladies. The afternoon was taken up with races, while the tennis courts and cricket pitch provided ample amusement for the older ones and nere occupied most of the time. Afternoon tea served in and around the new shelter sheds, and the distribution of prizes brought to a close a very pleasant day. The races resulted us follow: —Tiny tots’ race, Don Sinclair 1, Dick Moar 2, Ruth liariand 3. Primmer girls, Joyce Bloxam X, Nellie Harland 2, Beryl Harland 3.
