MANSON AND BARR CUP
A rink from the Northern Club challenged for the Manson and Barr Cup on Saturday, the match being played on the Palmerston North green. The holders, however, were in better form than their opponents, winning by 28 >to 18 The Northern rink comprised Dick-el, Stallard, Bennett and Stuart (skip), while Palmerston North was represented by J. H. Nash, Stephenson, 'Brown, and J. A. Nash (skip).
Mr Joseph Blair, formerly a champion tennis 1 player in New Zealand, and one who used to contend for the highest honours against Anthony Wilding and his contemporaries, is at present enjoying a holiday in Wellington. Mr Blair is the No. 3 of the Victorian rink to be skipped by Bleach, the bowler who has won every championship in Victoria at different times, and is still, at Go years of age, at the top of his form. Mr Blair states that he and liis fellow Victorian bowlers are looking forward keenly to both the tests, and the tournament that is to follow them. He and his rink mates have entered for all events —singles, pairs and rinks.
