FURTHER VISITORS ARRIVE.

(By. 'Binocular.") Splendid conditions prevailed at Awapuni this morning tor training operations, the tracks being hard and fist. The majority of. the mentors elected to send their charges along on the plough in preference to JNo. a grass. Additional interest was lent to the proceedings by the presence of several of the newly arrived visitors, although not a great deal was asked or them. „, c „ + The local mentor, G. New, was first on the scene, sending Teremoana Uj. Broughton), Miss Field (W. Broughton) and Grand Acre (Chapman) over five furlongs on the plough the two maiden candidates being in front or Grand Acre at the journey's end in A./Desert Lad (Chapman) appeared to be going nicely at the end of a six furlong gallop in company with Bag (C. Broughton) and another l<ucullus gelding from New's stable, the trio finishing together in 1.22. Hymestrason (R. G. Stratton) and Clannda (Green) were companions in a seven furlong gallop on the pl°ug n which was left behind m 1.35. tao hurdle candidate was going the stronger at the close. ■■ ~ Novar (Mackie) and Keddar (Keed) were not extended to run a mile and a auarter on the plough in 2.18. Imperial Spark (W. Broughton) drew right away from Blimp (C<. Broughton) in the run home at the close of a mile task on the plough to complete the full distance in 1.25 2-5. Two representatives from K. a. Baeby's stable, in the Wairarapa, in Rowley and St. Melba, left seven furlongs behind on the plough in 1.33 2-5, the last half-mile taking 54 2-5. Vexatious (Reed) drew away from Mr Gamp (Green) and Elysianor (Mackie) at the turn for home to run seven furlongs on the plough in 1.34 2.5. Mister Gamp came again over the final stages, but Elysianor was not persevered with. Inflame (Reed) hung on better than usual to get up and finish on terms with Moutoa Fume (Mackie) at the end of six furlongs on the plough in 1.21 2-5. „ . Two two-vear-olds in Hot Springs, a member .of 11. S. Bagby's string, and King Hal, from H. Doyle's establishment, were sent over half a mile on No. 3 grass, the visitor holding a three parts of a length advantage at the post to run the distance in 50 1-5. Peneus (A. McDonald) proved too good for Grand National, with a stable boy up, at the end of a seven furlong gallop on the plough, the veteran sprinter running the distance in 1.38. AN ATTRACTIVE EFFORT. Moutoa Treasury (Mackie) recorded an attractive effort when the A"aper Aloney filly drew away fro.m. Dobbin (.C. JtSroughtoii) in the run home to negotiate the six furlongs on the plough in 1.18. . . . Two Gisborne representatives in Singleton and Jfolonett ran half a nnio on the plough in 52 3-5. . Singleton appeared to be gomg the better at the end. Riecarton's candidate in the Manawatu Cup, First bight, was given a strong found on the plough. The southerner was anxious to go on with it and It. S. Bagby, who will be his pilot on the day, had some difficulty in pulling him up at the completion of che round. • Home Made (Reed) was going better than Atarcria at the end ot a rniie on the plough which was left behind in 1.47 1-5. Atareria will be ridden by Mr H. Dodd in the Bracelet Handicap at Waipukurau in which he ranks as topweight. Kalos (uromley) was a head in front of Locarno (A. McDonald) at, the end of a mile task on the plough, the last six furlongs being left behind in 1.25. Statuary broke 50sec. when negotiating half a mile on No. 3 grass, his "companion, Killogie, being well in the rear.

Patearoa (C. Broughton) gave an improved performance by running five furlongs alone on the plough in 1.6. Disrank was well clear of Archeria at the turn for home, but the Maiden Plate winner at Woodville gathered him up in the run down the straight co pass the post with a couple of lentghs advantage, the six furlongs being run in 1.19. GOOD JUMPING. • Elicit (Adams) had Calluna (A. McDonald) as a companion on a round over the battens. Both jumped cleanly, Elicit particularly so., although the pace was not on. Roburant (McCracken) was sent over four fences, the chestnut giving an improved showing. He did not have sufficient pace at the first fence and he propped slightly, but he improved as he progressed. He will be a runner in the Tararua Hack Handicap on the opening day at Awapuni. Lin Arlington (Adams) was a com.panion for the un-named full-sister to Valuator, wlio had Trainer J. Kelly up, in a flutter over two furlongs on the plough which were negotiated in 26 2-5. ~ Lin Arlington then went on to negotiate two fences in promising fashion. . Cohesion, Mon Mint Hunting Call, Evensong, Pot Shot, Wilderness, Skyrider and others fulfilled useful tasks without being sent against the watch. C. Broghton has been engaged to pilot Silver Paper in the Fitzherbert, Handicap, while W. Broughton will ride Imperial Spark, Opa and Miss Field in their respective engagements. THE CUP RIDERS.
