MARINE MISHAPS.
INQUIRIES TO BE HELD. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Dec. 21. The Minister of Marine (Hon. J. G. Cobbe) has ordered magisterial inquiries to he held into the recent groundings of the coastal steamers Parera and Invercargill during misty weather in Cook Strait. The dates of the inquiries are yet to he fixed. Captain Stringer, formerly port shipping master at Wellington, and Captain C. Clift, formerly of the Union Company’s intercolonial service, have ben appointed nautical assessors at the inquiries.
