LIFEBOAT TRAGEDY.
FUNERAL OF VICTIMS. (Australian Press- Association.) Received November 21, 12.10 p.m. LONDON, Nov. 20. Fifteen of tho seventeen fishermen who were drowned recently off Rye were buried in one grave in tho village churchyard. The sea has not yet given up the remaining two victims. There was an enormous crowd present, trains and motor ears bringing thousands of mourners. Thirteen clergymen representative of all religions headed the funeral procession. PATHETIC SCENES. (British Official Wireless.) Received November 21, 11.30 a.m. RUGBY, Nov. 20. At the funeral of tho victims of the Rye lifeboat tragedy, members of tho British Legion were among the pall-bearers, who were mainly lifeboatmen. A band played funeral marches. Because of the px-ess of the public, tho service was held in the graveyard, not in the church. The crews of many other lifeboats along the coast were present. Nearly every family in tho little hamlet of Rye Harbour had lost someone in the disaster, and the scenes at the graveside were pathetic in the extreme.
