STEEL FOR WARSHIPS.
ANGLO-FRENCH ARRANGEMENT

According to the Lokal Anzeiger, German steel firms are pretesting against an arrangement negotiated between British and French steel firms whereby British firms supply armour plate for French warships, while French firms supply the light steel required for British warship i construction.
German firms raised the question at a meeting of the Steel Cartel. The French replied that ivar / material was excluded from the restrictive clauses. The Germans argued that this exception did not apply to war material produced for export.
