CHOIRS’ FESTIVAL.

(British Official Wirelss). RUGBY, Sept. 3. Numerous vjsitors from European countries and the British Dominions are attending the 208th. festival of tho three choirs of Gloucester, Worcester, and Hereford, whch is being held this week at Gloucester.

The festivals take place annually in turn in the cathedrals of these three West Country cities, nnd their extremely high standards have given them a wide musical appeal. They date from 1715, when the three cathedral choirs met for the practice of glee and madrigal singing. Breaks in tho continuity of the festivals have been few, and their character has been broadened to include orchestral and secular music.
