RIVER CONTROL
MANAWATU-OROUA BOARD. Tho Manawatu-Oroua River' Board met this morning, Mr H. Akers presiding. Also present were: Messrs B. G. Gower, R. Tanner, H. Barber and J. E. C. Harrison. An apology for absence was received from Mr W. Carter. Tho question of striking tho rates was discussed in committee and it was finally decided that Is Cd per acre bo levied on A class land, Is on B class land, and 6d on C class. The rates are estimated to produce £2500. To fill the vacancy on the board, caused by the death of Mr J. Richardson, it was decided to invito nomina tions. Mr R. Spencer was appointed returning officer.
