ANNUAL BULB SHOW.
(From Our Own Correspondent). SANDON, Sept. 5. The committee in charge of tho Bulb Show have all details well in hand for the show to be held at tho Public Hall on Thursday. PERSONAL. Miss Davis, who has been assistant mistress at the local school for the last three years, has accepted an appointment under the Hawke’s Bay Education Board Miss Davis was very popular with' the children in her room and regret is expressed at her departure. Miss Spurdle is at pesent relieving until a pemanont appointment is made to fill tho vacant position. Mr Edward Thakabau, a student at Wanganui Technical College, who is spending the holidays in this district, has boon laid up for the last week with pleurisy. His many friends wish him a speedy return to health. FOOTBALL. The final meeting for the season of. the management committee of tho Te Kawau Rugby Sub-union was held on Friday evening. Mr H. J. Fagan presided over a modorato attendance of members. \ A letter from the Manawatu Council regarding the conditions of the Wallace Cup and submitting fixtures for tho next two seasons was received. It was decided to write to tho Oroua Sub-union on tho matter and suggest fixtures for throe seasons, also suggesting that tho gat© takings at Foilding bo divided between tho teams competing. The secretary was directed to write thanking tho Manawatu Union for allowing tho annual fixture, played at Sanson to bo a challenge gamo for tho Wallace Cup. It was resol red to ask the Manawatu Council to forward correspondence in connection with tho Alger caso to the Now Zealand Union for a ruling, as it is considered that tho ruling given by tho Manawatu Council leaves a loophole for irregularities. It was further resolvod that the question of tho games in which Alger took part would not bo ro-considcred, the results of tho games to stand. The secretary presented a brief statement of the season’s working and. it is anticipated that a small credit will be shown at tho next annual meeting. The sub-union, had a very successful season with representative games, the seniors playing four gamos and winning them all, while tho juniors defeated Oroua, played a draw against Manawatu thirds at Awahuri and defeated the latter at Palmerston North. The chairman at the close of tho meeting expressed his thanks to tho members of tho committee and the secrotary for assistance given during tho season and a hearty vote of thanks was carried to the ladies who provided afternoon tea. A voto of appreciation for the efforts of tho president (Mr H. J. Fagan) was carried with acclamation, Mr Fagan briefly responded.
