TIAIARU TOURNAAIENT. Per Press Association. TIAIARU, Sept. 4. Tho ladies’ championship hockey tournament was continued to-day in fine weather. The grounds showed signs of heavy use to which they had been subjected since the commencement of the tournament Great interest was taken in the day’s programme as .the unbeaten teams in each section met. By defeating Otago A three to nfl. Southland are practically assured of victory, in Section 1. Canterbury defeated Ruahine (holders of tho championship) 3 to nil, and it is not likely that they will bo beaten for top place in their section. Both these matches reached a very high standard. Additional results aro as follow: Section I.—-Wellington heat South Canterbury B 11 to 1; Southland heat Otago A 3 to nil. • Section ll.—Rotorua beat. North Otago 1 to nil; Canterbury beat Ruahine 3 to nil. The following teams have been chosen for the North Island-South Island match. NORTH ISLAND. Goal, M. Dennis (Rualiine); backs, E.
