FRIENDLY SOCIETIES.

COURT MANAAVATU. The fortnightly meeting of Court Manawatu, A.0.F., No. 5655, was held in the Foresters’ Hall, Main Street, on Monday night. Tho C.R., Bro. C. K. Lane, presided over a good attendance of members, including ■ a number of visiting brethren from other courts in the district. A voto of sympathy was, passed to Bro. Bubbs in the sad loss he had sustained in the death of his wife, the members standing in silence. Three candidates were initiated into the Court and Order and one proposed for membership. Bros. Dryden and C. K. Lane were presented with a trophy each, being winners of the lodge card tourney. Bro. McKay resigned from his office as S.B. and his resignation was accepted with regret. Bro. W. T. Rogers was elected to fill tho office of S.B. and Bro. Mudgway was elected to the office of Jun. B.
