BANKRUPT SOLICITOR.

HEAVt LIABILITIES

Per Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, Aug. 22. A meeting of the creditors of J. B. Batchelor, solicitor, called by advertisement, was held to-day. About fifty were present. Batchelor left Christchurch early this month and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The warrant has not yet been, executed. The meeting" to-day was held in camera. There was no means of ascertaining the total p,mount of the debts, but it was evident that they, were considerable. The meeting decided that Batchelor be made- a "bankrupt and a solicitor was instructed accordingly. The chairman stated after the meeting that ho believed tile total debts would amount to £6OOO, but the exact amount is yet unknown.
