WANGANUI CRUTCIIING SALE.

Tho New Zealand Loan and Morcantilo Agency Co., Ltd'., report:—The Wanganui crutching salo was held yesterday when a total offering of 2492 bales was submitted, of which our catalogue comprised 233 bales drawn from Wanganui, Taihapo, Raetihi, Hawera ana Stratford districts. One very nice lot of 12 bales branded Aranui, from Mangamahu, elicited keen competition and realised 13id. There was a good bench of buyers representing Bradford, tho Continent and local scourers and fellmongers, who competed keenly up to a point for all suitablo lines, but at no timo could tho competition be described as animated. Compared with the sale in Wellington on Tuesday last, prioea wero if anything a shade firmer, especially for low and 6oedy lots. We are pleased to report that we disposed of 95 per cent of our catalogue ijnder tho hammer. At tho wool sales competition to-day was moro general than on tho opening day. Values were unchanged, though tho tendency of variations was in tho sellers’ favour. Tho Japaneso and Gormans wero tho most activo buyers. Good clearances, wero effected; greasy Merino floeco selling to 26id per lb.
