Apart from that most other towns are moving in ihe matter and I feel sure that, it we nave a meeting here? daylight saving toll be Adopted by a large majority I have been asked as president of the Chamber of Commerce to call a meet ing at an early date, and Mr Nash tells me that it will certainly s 1 e 6* en tho hands of thoso members toio are approaching Mr Coates in reference to tho Government bringing down !a bill. Wanganui lias held a meeting and has formed a deputation to wait on Mr Coates, while tho larger c t es, Auckland, Wellington and Chnstchurch, havo held meetings and they are quite unanimous. I feel sure th the objections to daylight saving arose from ignorance. As iar as tho towns are concerned, it wont affect tlio running of the trains, while the employees starting work at, say, o.ou a.m. will start at 7.30.’ Mr A. P. Stewart mentioned that, at the annual meeting of the Northern Bowling Club, a - resolution was passed agreeing to support the Cham Dcr of Commerce in any action taken. After .a discussion it was agreed that the president call a meeting on iiiursday week.
