FATAL JOKE.

YOUTH’S TRAGIC DEATH,

LODAED SERVICE REVOLVER,

MELBOURNE, July 15. Picking up a German servico revolver war souvenir at his home last night, Norman Eric Leverton, aged 18. of Pender Street. Thornbury, placed the revolver to his temple, and jokingly remarked: “This is how it is done,” at the same time pulling the trigger. Then, to the amazement of his friends, there was an explosion, and a bullet entered the unfortunate youth’s head above the right eye. The bullet emerged from the back of his skull, and lodged in the wall behind him. Leverton died instantly.

A boarder in the house had brought, tho ,a few minutes before.
