RETURNS FOR JUNE QUARTER.
The following are the Supremo Court returns for Palmerston North for the quarter ended Juno 30, the figures for the preceding quarter being given in parentheses:— Criminal Cases.—There were two sitting days (4), two true bills (4), one no bill (1), and two convictions (2) in the criminal section. Divorce actions.—Judicial separation 1 (nil), restitution of conjugal rights, nil (3), nullity, nil (nil), dissolution 10 (4), trials by Judge 11 (4), trials by jury nil (nil), decrees nisi sealed, 5 (6)j decrees absolute sealed 5 (6) ; ■petitions dismissed or withdrawn 1 (1). Bankruptcy.—Sitting days 6 (4), debtors’ petitions filed 14 (12), creditors’ petitions filed 3 (2), adjudications on creditors’ petitions 1 (2), discharges granted 13 (1). General.—Probates and letters of administration sealed and re-sealed, 47 (29), chattel securities filed 226 (128), satisfactions filed 52 (26), sales by mortgagees through the registrar 8 (6), applications to conduct sales 9 (11). Fees collected totalled £596 14s 6d as against £463 2s 3d for tho previous quarter.
