BUNNYTHORPE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) BUNNYTHORPE, June 14.

There was a large attendance at the Public Hall on Wednesday evening at the concert and dance in aid of the candidature of Miss Stoneliouse, one of tho Catholic carnival queens, and tho function was in every way a great success. The items rendered were of a high class and resulted in many well deserved encores. The duties of M.C. was ablly carried out by Mr Rodgers and at the close of the concert he introduced the candidate, Miss Slonehouse, and also thanked all those who had assisted in tho programme and tho residents of Bunnythorpo by the large attendance. The following items were rendered: —Overture, Miss O’Knne and Miss Stonehouso; dance, Jean Cheatham; song, Miss Johnson; part song, Miss Barnand and Miss Catrick; monologue, Mr Davinson; song, Mrs McDonald; song (comic), Mr Farmer; dance, Miss Shapleski; comic item, Messrs Chapman Bros.; song, Miss Kneebone; song, Miss Blockley; spring time, Miss May and Mr Davidson; musical item, Mr Gibson: song (comic), Mr Neaber; song, Miss Lucas; violin solo, Mr Faneny; comic item, Messrs Chapman Bros.; dance, Miss Shapleski. During the evening two exhibition bouts of boxing by lads from tho Awapuni school were given. A dance followed which brought to a close a most successful night’s entertainment.
