INMAN STRIKES TROUBLE.

CHARGE AGAINST MANUFAC-

TUB LB

LONDON, May 10. That Rupert Featherstonehaugh, a manufacturer, forced his way into his home, accused him of making Mrs Featherstonehaugh “turn him out,” felled him with a blow >to the jaw, and struck him six times when he was on the floor, wore the allegations made by Melbourne Inman, ex-world champion professional billiard player, at Bow Street to-day. , Featherstonehaugh 'was charged with assaulting Inman. It was stated in evidence that Inman and Featherstonehaugh were members of the same dub. Inman objected to Featherstonehaugh’s attentions to Mrs Inman, and asked him to leave her alone.

Inman and his wife occupied separate bedrooms.

On the night of April 24, Inman, after arriving at his home, ignored a knock on the door. He then heard the furniture against the folding door leading into the next room removed, and Featherstonehaugh entered and said: “Why did you make my wife turn me out.”

Inman denied this and Featherstoneliaugh felled him with a blow to the jaw and struck him six times when he was on the ground. Inman’s wrist, which had been strained while trying to mount an omnibus, precluded him from defending himself. After a wound in Inman’s eye had been stitched in hospital, Featherstonehaugh was arrested. The hearing was adjourned.
