GROCERS BEAT GRAND UNITED

Grocers sprang a surprise yesterday afternoon, by beating Grand United by a substantial margin, in the Wednesday soccer series. Up to within a few minutes of the half-time whistle Grand United held a lead of one goal to nil, but their opponents rattled on two goals in the space of a minute or two and were leading at the interval 2 —l. After the resumption of the second spell, Grocers completely cont robed the game and eventually ran out the winners by 8 goals to 3. McShetferv and Donaldson on the left wing for Grocers combined well and contributed in no small measure to their side’s victory. Bell also played well. For Grand United Crowe, Watt and Reid did good work.
