Much sympathy is extended to Mr A. McLaggan who has been admitted to the Palmerston North Hospital to undergo a serious operation. „ , , Air J. AlcDonald has left for an extended holiday to relatives at Edendale, South Island. Miss' Sylvia ’lrwin has returned from a, holiday *perit in Dannevirke. Alisa M. Judd, of Napier, has been spending a few' day 3 with her parents. Air and Airs A. Judd. Airs H. Liggins and her son have returned" from a visit spent with Airs C. W. Biggins, of Rongotea. Last week two of the hockey girls approached Air R. J. Whyte, of the recreation committee, to see if something could be arranged about having the local ground mado playable for homo matches in tho Manawatu competition. Air Whyte informed the girls that h.e would endeavour to have the ground in order for the inspection of Mr Broughton from Palmerston Last Alonday night tho Hockey Club held a meeting, there being a fair number of members present. Alias J. Stokes presided. It was decided to hold a euchre and dance on June Ist, also to enter one team for tho seven-a-sido tournament, which is to bo held in Palmerston North on June 4th. It was decided to thank Alessrs E. Perry, M. Free and C. Osman for donations of 10s each. On Wednesday night the Lind Lodge held their .fortnightly meeting, there being some 47 members present including members from visiting lodges.
