AFGHAN KING
3.15 P.M. EDITION
"RECEPTION AT MOSCOW.
(United Press Association.—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright.) (Times Cables.) Received Alay 7, 12.5 p.m. LONDON, May 6. Tho Times’s Riga correspondent telegraphs: “Afghanistan and the Soviet fought a common enemy in 1919 and both emerged victorious,” stated . M. Kalinin in a speech at a reception given in honour of King Amanullah. “Both will be bound tighter in ties of friendship, because both escaped the same oppression.” King Amanullah, in reply, expressed pleasure at visiting Afghanistan’s friendly neighbour. M. Voroshilof, on behalf of tlio Alilitary Council, presented King Amanullah with a sabre and tho Queen with a rifle.
Tho decision to postpone the inauguration of tho Red Army’s aeroplanes “to another holiday” seems certainly due to King Amanullah’s refusal to participate in an anti-British ceremony.
