SLAVES FREED.

LIBERATED IN BURMA. Received December 19, 10.40 a.m. DELHI, Dec. 18. The Government of Burma has announced that over 4000 slaves were freed last year. A sum of £21,000 was paid the owners as compensation. —A. and N.Z. cable.
