PAINFUL ACCIDENT.

BUTTER-MAKER INJURED,

A painful accident, but which does not, fortunately, promise to be atetnded with any serious consequences, befell Mr Sydney Hume, of 33 Campbell Strete, this morning while engaged in his duties of butter-maker at uhe factory of the N.Z. Dairy Union, Fitrherbert Street. It appears that Mr Hume was starting up the freezer wiien it burst; with the result that some of the liquid ammonia went over his legs. Ho was admitted to the Hospital where it was found that he was suffering from burns to the thighs, but they are, fortunately, not of a serious nature.
