ACCIDENT AT PLANTATION.

MAN’S COLLARBONE BROKEN. (From Our Own Correspondent.) FOXTON, Sept. 2. An accident occurred at the Himatangi plantation on Thursday afternoon as a result of which E. Conn, of Foxton is now an inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital. Conn was engaged in cross-cutting logs when the log he was working on came down the skids and crushed him, fracturing his collarbono and inflicting injuries to his chest. He was removed to his home where he received medical attention and yesterday removed to hospital. This is the first serious accident that has happened since clearing operations were commenced on the plantations over twelve months ago.
