ITALIANS ARRESTED.

ALLEGED ANTI-FASCIST INTRIGUES.

ROME, Aug, 15. The Osservatore Romano, the Vatican organ, reports that the Fascist authorities have arrested five priests holding high positions in the diocese of Udine (85 miles northeast of Venice). The paper says that it does not know the reasons for the arrests.

The Turin Gazetta del Popolo declares that the arrests are due to antiFascist intrigues, which the authorities could not longer tolerate. —Times.
